Melinda Chapman, Director

Director

BEd. As company director, Melinda leads Infocus Management Group’s food safety consultancy and training services and overseas the company's public health projects. She plays an active research role to continuously improve food safety services and ensure all clients are meeting changing legislative requirements. Melinda also facilitates the development and management of HACCP systems for clients who aim to achieve and maintain HACCP Certification. As a pioneer provider and adviser in the development of food safety supervisor training in Victoria, Melinda now regularly advises and assists companies in meeting their food safety regulatory and training requirements.

With qualifications in education, workplace training, HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF™) Melinda has developed and facilitated training and professional development programs for Queensland Health (Hospitals), Lend Lease Primelife, Bupa Care Services, Sofitel Melbourne, Krispy Kreme  and Environmental Health Australia.

Jim Smith  

Dr Jim Smith

Specialist Public Health Adviser

DrPH. Jim is an independent public health adviser who has had a long standing interest and involvement in local government public health planning both at the strategic and operational levels. Jim' background includes nursing, environmental health, university teaching, research, management and consultancy.

Over the last 20 years he has provided an extensive range of public health consultancy, training, and professional development services to the private, public and community sectors. Jim has also been heavily engaged in environmental health policy and its implementation, particularly in the areas of food safety, domestic wastewater, and climate change. As a result, he is regularly sought to provide consultancy services to industry bodies and government.

Jim holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at La Trobe, Curtin and Flinders Universities. Recent roles have included Editor in Chief of the Environmental Health journal and National President of Environmental Health Australia. Jim is co-author of Public Health Practice in Australia (Allen & Unwin, 2007).

Jaclyn Huntley

BHSc. As a public health professional and leading writer and reviewer of food safety programs for the Aged Care and Healthcare sector, Jaclyn has an intimate knowledge of the food safety training and management requirements for organisations providing food to vulnerable people in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia.

With over six years experience as a food safety consultant and trainer, Jaclyn readily responds to our clients food safety requests and queries and will always go the 'extra mile' to resolve issues they may face. She thoroughly enjoys her training role delivering Food Handler, Food Safety Supervisor and Food Hygiene Refresher courses across Australia. She consistently receives excellent feedback from participants who enjoy her unique personable approach and entertaining case studies. Recent roles have included Assistant Editor of the Environmental Health journal.

Petina Brennan

Petina commenced professional life in the food service and catering sector as a qualified  Chef seventeen years ago. Petina has broad experience in all aspects of the food service and catering sector and has specialized as a trainer in food service, food safety, and responsible service of alcohol (RSA). She has completed her Diploma in Vocational Education and Training (VET) teaching. With her practical experience and training background, Petina is in high demand by clients to assist and facilitate them in the development, implementation and evaluation of food safety policies, programs and procedures in the hospitality and health sectors. Petina enjoys onsite visits to problem solve and assist our clients with any Food Safety and Hospitality requirements or concerns. 

Simon Berton

BHSc. Simon is an enthusiastic member of the Infocus team and works with clients to assist and facilitate them in the development, implementation and evaluation of food safety policies, programs and procedures. Simon also assists our clients in the areas of health promotion, risk management and policy development, working alongside Dr Jim Smith. Completing his Cert IV in Training & Assessment in 2007 Simon has gone onto to becoming a knowledgeable & respected trainer of Food Handler, Food Safety Supervisor and Food Hygiene Refresher courses.

Simon is Co-Convener of the Victorian Health Promotion Network, and a member of Environmental Health Australia

 
Nola Elliott

Nola is the newest member of the Infocus team, joining the company in early 2008. She brings forth a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to accounts management. A qualified trainer and bookkeeper, Nola has a vast background working in various sectors including Community Education and Community Health.
